Welcome to the Blog!

Alright, so this is the start of a blog of mine. Unlike previous attempts to blog, this blog will have more of a focus – sports. Everyone has their own opinion about sports, whether it’s how much they hate a team, how much they love a player, what they think about a team’s performance, or how much they hate sports and how much their significant player obsesses about sports.

Now it’s my turn.

I grew up in the Central New Jersey area, so many of my posts will center on some of those local teams: the Yankees, Giants, Devils, and Nets. I spent part of collegiate career at Penn State University, so expect to hear some of that as well.

Soooooo…..

The Giants are playing in Denver tonight for Thanksgiving. The monkey is off the Giants’ back for now, but that probably won’t last if they don’t win. The defense looked like swiss cheese in the second half last week against the Falcons, and with the short week, there won’t be enough time to install an elaborate defensive scheme for tonight’s game. If Kyle Orton is healthy enough and can get the ball to Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal, this game could get ugly very quickly for the Giants.

On the plus side (as a Giants’ fan, anyway), the Broncos are just as much of a mess. Considering they are on a four game slide, they still have that monkey. Denver was the surprise team of the early season. They sprinted out of the gates with a 6-0 record before losing four straight games and the AFC West lead.

This game is probably a must-win for either team.

The Giants will be without HB Ahmad Bradshaw, who has been nursing a right ankle sprain for a few weeks, now has a left ankle sprain to hamper him as well. Without any good ankles, the Giants will give his touches to HB Danny Ware. If Ware plays well, this could spell the end of Bradshaw’s role as the Giants’ second back. Ware is a better blocker than Bradshaw, and shows some of the same explosiveness.

We’ll have a review of the game, probably tomorrow.

By the way, Happy Thanksgiving!
